US Bank Accounts for Non-US Residents
Presently the only type of US bank account, which may be opened from abroad, is a business checking account. In order to qualify you must:
- Possess a valid passport
- Own at least a percent of a US business
- Have a physical US address
Possession of a valid passport is required for identification. Photocopies of the passport will be kept on file at the bank.
You must also own or own a percentage of a US business or be willing to establish ownership in one. If you have not yet established a US based business we can provide this service. We can also refer you to other companies, which provide this service.
Lastly the bank will require a physical US address. This cannot be a P.O. Box must be either a commercial office space or a residence. If you do not have a physical US address we can also provide this as part of our service. You must also provide a utility bill in the business name matching the address.
